THE GRAND DINNING ROOM

Upon entry, the viewer‘s attention is drawn directly ahead to crescent painting of St. Wenceslas making wine in Melnik by Karel Skreta dating back to 1641. There are three family paintings including two notable ones which portray Prince Joseph Lobkowicz (1725-1802 a field marshall in the service of three Austrian emperors) in the middle of the left wall, with a portrait of his wife Countess Maria Josepha Harrach to the left. The room contains Baroque furniture and original China, both dating back to the 18th century. In front of each of the four windows sit a table with Harrachov glasses and vases adorned with a snake from the 19th century. The chairs around the main dining table date back to 1740. The figures on the table and the bust of Napolean are originals from Severs.
