THE LOBKOWICZ VINEYARDS
The vineyard planted directly below the castle has a
south-westerly aspect and is called Ludmila. The vineyard sites of
Turbovice, Rousovice, Trautmanka and Šternberka lie south of the
town of Mělník. Further north, on the limestone bedrock, can be
found other vineyard sites, namely Klamovka, Štěpánka, Thunovka,
Koráb and Trojslava. Two single vineyards Josefka and Bechlín are
planted on volcanic subsoil. The Lobkowicz vineyards extend to 90
hectares of which 60are currently under vine.
